This handbook, from Food First NL (formerly known as the Food Security Network of Newfoundland and Labrador) is for those who organize farmers’ markets across Newfoundland and Labrador. It has information that will help them make sure their farmers’ market is following provincial food safety rules and practices.

The material in this handbook comes from information given through the creation of a “Public Market Guidelines” document, prepared by the Department of Health and Community Services, in the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
